Through the Preparing Young People for the Workforce Initiative, Confidence is preparing young people to succeed in the workforce by providing free afterschool and summer courses in STEM, Character building and the Arts.
Our Afterschool programs connect students to the world of STEM and the Arts. It inspires young learners to think outside of the box, brainstorm new technologies, theories, cures and solutions for their future world. It also offers students basic and in-depth insight on various concepts. In these programs, students learn through project-based hands on training that are fun and engaging. Throughout the duration of the afterschool programs, students also engage in character building lessons and activities to develop their teamwork and social skills.
Our summer initiative will help maintain achievement gains made during the school year. According to research from the Afterschool Alliance, summer months can be a time when students experience summer learning loss or summer slide, especially children from low-income families, who often fall behind in key areas like reading and math. Our summer programs offer students access to STEM, Music, and Character-building classes to prepare students to achieve academically and socially. Our programs give students the confidence and training to smoothly transition from a school setting to the workplace.
